At Marston Holdings, we’re committed to creating a workplace that attracts, develops, and retains top talent. As part of our ongoing growth, we’re looking for an experienced, strategic Reward Manager to shape and deliver our compensation and benefits strategy across the UK.
As our Reward Manager, you’ll lead the total reward framework for a large, unionised workforce of over 5,100 employees. This role operates both strategically and operationally, partnering closely with senior leaders, the People Team, and operational managers to develop a reward and recognition programme that is fair, transparent, and fully aligned with our business objectives. You will also play a crucial role in advancing our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring transparency, and consistently driving positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnering: Work with senior leaders to develop and deliver a compelling reward strategy that aligns with our business aims, supports growth, and drives employee engagement and retention.
Compensation Benchmarking: Lead the job benchmarking process, conduct regular market reviews, and make recommendations to ensure our reward packages remain competitive and equitable.
Benefits Programme Management: Design, procure, and manage our comprehensive benefits programme, including health and wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programmes, salary sacrifice schemes, and additional perks.
Data-Driven Insights: Establish KPIs and metrics to assess the impact of our reward programmes, provide regular reporting to senior leadership, and analyse trends to identify improvement opportunities.
Gender Pay Gap Reporting and EDI Initiatives: Oversee the accurate reporting of gender pay gap data, using insights to influence our reward practices and close identified gaps. Support and promote EDI by embedding inclusive practices in all aspects of reward and recognition.
Reward & Recognition Initiatives: Design and deliver an impactful annual reward programme, working closely with Senior Leadership and operational managers to drive employee recognition and performance.
Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day reward activities such as job evaluations, grading, pay reviews and benefits administration, ensuring alignment with company frameworks and regulatory compliance.
Reward Projects: Lead key reward initiatives, including annual pay and incentive cycles, performance calibrations, organisational design changes, and job profiling aligned to industry standards.
Communication & Engagement: Collaborate with the Head of Communications and Engagement to ensure clear, consistent messaging around reward programmes, strengthening our inclusive, high-performance culture.
Your Experience:
Proven experience in reward management within a large, complex, unionised organisation
Demonstrable track record in developing reward strategies that support business growth and employee retention
Deep expertise in compensation principles, job evaluation, and market benchmarking
