Registered Manager - Children’s Care Home

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the care and wellbeing of children in our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in care home management, with a focus on developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, as you will be supervising a team of care staff while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans for children, ensuring they meet individual needs and preferences.
  • Supervise and support care staff in delivering high-quality care in an assisted living environment.
  • Ensure medication administration is conducted safely and in accordance with established protocols.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices in child care, including dementia care when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and health status, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes the emotional and social development of children.
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the care environment to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A valid nursing qualification with experience in a registered children’s manager role or similar position within a care home setting.
  • Proven experience in developing care plans and supervising staff within an assisted living or home care context.
  • Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices in child health management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Experience working with children who have special needs or require dementia care is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to regulatory standards within the childcare sector.
Experience:
  • Children’s care home: 1 year (preferred) if applying as a Registered Manager.
  • Children’s care home: 2 years (preferred) if a Deputy Manager looking to step up.
