RG Consultancy are working with a very well established firm of solicitors in Stockport who are looking to add to their finance department. This is a newly created role to support the Head of Finance.

To assist the head of finance with smooth running of the department, duties will include:
- Support and oversee the processing and recording all financial transactions including logging and banking cheques, issuing cheques, bank transfers and petty cash
- To assist with the monthly management accounts
- Month end reporting, support with KPI's
- Bank reconciliations, payment runs
- Oversee and support invoice processing, accounts payable and receivable to support a small team of legal cashiers
- Support with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
- Liaising with external auditors and to provide support with audit
- Prepare payroll and payroll administration
- VAT administration and returns
- To provide full support to finance department in the absence of the Head of Finance
- Provide support to oversee a small team of legal cashiers
The Person
- Experience within a legal setting, accountancy practice or other professional service sector is an advantage
- AAT qualified is desirable but not essential
- Prior experience overseeing a small team
- Strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel are essential
