About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a mainstream secondary school in Southwark, starting immediately. This is a full-time, long-term position, supporting students to improve their behaviour, social skills, and engagement with learning. The role will run until the end of the academic year, offering a rewarding experience in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural challenges.
• Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and reduce incidents of disruptive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to develop and support Behavioural Intervention Plans.
• Monitor and track students' progress, reporting back to teachers, senior leaders, and parents where necessary.
• Foster a positive and inclusive school environment by promoting good behaviour and respect.
• Assist in managing challenging situations and conflicts in a calm, constructive manner.
• Support students during break times and ensure they are engaging appropriately with their peers.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with children, ideally in an educational or behavioural support setting.
• Strong understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour.
• Ability to build rapport with students and support their individual needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to working with students.
• A DBS on the update service or the willingness to undergo a new DBS check.
• A strong commitment to improving student behaviour and outcomes.
• Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential.
