Contract Role - IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer - Newcastle/Onsite - 12 months

Gibbs Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer to support the secure and compliant implementation and maintenance of IT systems within our client’s organisation. This role plays a pivotal part in improving IT processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and adherence to security standards.

Role Overview:
• Job Title: IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer
• Location: Newcastle/Onsite (5 days per week onsite)
• Contract Type: Contract
• Duration: 12 months initially
• Sector: Healthcare

Technical Expertise:
• Hands-on experience with multiple IT security solutions, including Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft technologies, Linux, VMware, HP Hyperconvergence, and Veeam.
• Proven knowledge of network and application architecture across varied technology stacks and protocols.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust methodologies and working in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIS2, ISO27001, and Information Security Management Systems.
• Expertise in selecting and deploying security solutions and platforms.
Professional Attributes:
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Experience operating in highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with national standards such as the Data Protection Act (DPA).
• Healthcare/Pharmaceutical background is a plus.
