About the Organisation:

Our client is a global charity driven by compassion and committed to serving vulnerable communities across the world. Established in 2013, they have rapidly grown their reach and impact from donating over 11 million meals in Ukraine to delivering more than 2 million tangible donations every year. With over 5,500 active volunteers and a small, dedicated UK-based core team, they deliver high-impact support at times of crisis and beyond. This is an opportunity to be part of a purpose-led organisation that thrives on teamwork, responsiveness, and a genuine desire to make a difference. The UK team operates in a fast-paced, reactive environment where no two days are the same.

The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Communications Executive to join our client’s growing PR & Communications team in London. This is a newly created position driven by business growth, where you’ll work closely with the PR & Comms Director to execute a proactive communications strategy that boosts brand reputation and engagement.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a flair for writing, a keen eye on the media landscape, and a proactive attitude to stakeholder engagement. You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and thrive in a responsive, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Public Relations:

  • Write and distribute compelling blogs and press releases
  • Liaise with external PR agencies to ensure strong media presence (online and in print)
  • Pitch regional press stories to news outlets and journalists
  • Monitor media coverage (via Meltwater) and escalate reputational risks

Communications:

  • Own and produce content for all internal and external comms, including newsletters, stakeholder updates, and instant messaging
  • Ensure alignment with the organisation’s strategic messaging across all channels
  • Support the PR & Comms Director with stakeholder engagement and high-level correspondence

Reputation Management:

  • Be available (on rotation or as agreed) to assist with reactive and reputation-sensitive communications as needed
  • Confidently manage communication in fast-moving, high-pressure situations
Requirements

About You:

  • A strong writer with a passion for impactful storytelling
  • Confident liaising with media and external stakeholders
  • Organised, adaptable and thrives under pressure
  • A graduate in Journalism, English, or Communications will be considered, as well as more experienced candidates
  • Keen to grow and learn… this role offers long-term development potential
  • A genuine team player who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves

Progression & Development:

This is a growth role with real progression opportunities. You’ll be joining at an exciting time and have the chance to shape the future of the comms function, with potential to step into a more senior role as the team expands.
