Prestigious City based banking brand is seeking a Senior Loans Officer / Transaction Manager to oversee new/revolving facilities from loans creation through to payment release. This 360 middle office opportunity will see you processing drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, prepare payment instructions, rate fixings, interest and fee calculations and documentation review (aligning the applications vs. agreements) and associated administrative work in relation to the banks syndicated and bilateral loan portfolios. You will provide excellent operational support and services to Corporate Banking Department, Financial Institution Department, Risk Management Department and all other stakeholders. You will also where possible, participate in system updates and testing.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Analyse available undrawn commitment balance to ensure utilisation is in line with facility agreement terms;
  • Review and analyse legal and loan documents and approvals for syndication and bilateral facilities;
  • Calculate, process and reconcile commitment, utilisation fee and charges and liaise with agents/customers of missing payments;
  • Prior to drawdown, analyse available undrawn commitment balance to ensure utilisation is in line with facility agreement terms;
  • Process drawdown, rollovers, repayments and rate fixing for agency, bilateral and syndication loan business;
  • Process fund receipts and payments
  • Reconcile and process commitment/utilisation fees and charges as well as chase missing payments from agents/customers;
  • Reconcile journal entries for transactions balancing
  • Scan approvals, daily transactions and all related loan documents as well as manage files in good order;
  • Evaluate system and limits issues and assist relationship manager to resolve all issues;
  • Liaise with agent and advise relationship manager on any system issues affecting their respective facilities;
  • Produce ad-hoc reports for business finance units;

Person specification:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ minimum experience within the Corporate and Investment loan sector & proven track record in similar department/business stream - Knowledge of syndicated loan and bilateral products and processes.
  • Able to work with highest level of accuracy
  • Good MS Excel skills;
  • Team player, diligent worker, good communicator
