Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity:

Join a fast-growing and dynamic manufacturing company in Leeds as an Assistant Accountant. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is an exciting opportunity to broaden your financial expertise in a hands-on role. You’ll play a key part in our finance team, handling a variety of responsibilities including purchase ledger management, supplier payments, payroll reconciliation, and month-end tasks. We’re also happy to support further studies to help you progress your career.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end procedures, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the Management Accountant to complete month-end closing activities.
• Process and reconcile expenses.
• Generate, review, and prioritise payment runs.
• Handle banking tasks and maintain accurate financial records.

What We’re Looking For:

• An experienced Accounts Assistant ready to take the next step as an Assistant Accountant.
• Proven experience in a fast-paced working environment, ideally within manufacturing or similar industries.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with IT systems, with a willingness to learn new software.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Actively studying (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is a bonus but not essential.
