Company Accountant | Derby (Central) | £40,000 - £45,000 + benefits

The Opportunity

Innovative, welcoming and modern SME (sub £4m turnover currently) have a requirement for an experienced and professional Company Accountant / Finance Manager.

You’ll enjoy plenty of autonomy, reporting into Directors who will truly value your input and financial guidance.

The remit includes all day to day financial management and reporting for the group - producing management accounts that are credible, timely, concise and easy to interpret.

It’s a great setting, a business with sensible and realistic growth aspirations. You’ll be part of a collaborative team and within finance you will manage one person (at transactional level).

This is a role that would be super rewarding and enjoyable for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers in a founder-led SME. You need to be comfortable getting into the nitty gritty (you probably actually quite enjoy that!). You also need to be comfortable presenting financial info to the MD and also to the external accountants at y/e.

A broad, busy but manageable role in a well-ran growing SME that would suit a versatile, calm and experienced Accountant.

Required:

• AAT as a minimum.
• Experience of managing the finance function for a modern SME.
• Good understanding of IT (Excel and Sage awareness)
• Ability to manage the workload with plenty of autonomy - it would suit someone who works in a structured and methodical manner without the need for any level of micromanagement!).
• Commercial awareness and common sense! - someone who can spot a strange number and get out into the business to understand where it comes from!
