Location:

  • North-based
  • Office based in Newcastle
  • Hybrid, work from home 2-3 days per week.

Pay and benefits

  • Competitive Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum (based on experience).

Job Overview:

They are recruiting a proactive and versatile Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the business and ensure all teams and processes are aligned to achieve their ambitious growth goals. The Operations Manager will play a vital role in driving operational efficiency, improving workflows, and supporting both staff and directors in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Role Objective:

To drive operational excellence, ensure seamless collaboration across teams, and support the company’s growth goals by managing day-to-day operations, improving processes, and enabling teams to perform at their best.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Team Leadership:

  • Manage multiple teams, including monthly 1:1s and annual performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive, high-performing work environment through effective leadership and coaching.

2. Operational Management:

  • Your job is to make sure the trains run on time.
  • Lead the operational cadence, ensuring key meetings and processes align with our growth plans.
  • Oversee company-wide meetings, set KPIs, and manage financial reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and customer loyalty.

3. People & Culture Management:

  • Lead on People Experience and oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and growth, ensuring alignment with our company values.
  • Implement performance management processes to support employee development and productivity.

4. Client Relations:

  • Act as the primary escalation point for client issues and complaints, resolving them efficiently and professionally.

5. Project Management:

  • Take the lead on new projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversee IT and technology systems to improve operational efficiency.

6. Finance Management:

  • Manage budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Provide strategic financial oversight, working closely with the Finance department and Directors.

7. Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Lead cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Report operational updates and team performance to the Directors regularly.
  • Work closely with the Directors to provide cross-functional support across operations, finance, and people management.
  • Drive alignment across departments to ensure smooth execution of company priorities.

Skills and experience:

You are excited to be part of a values-led property investment company but also motivated by personal ambition. You are flexible and learn quickly and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Communication will be key since many of the team work remotely, at home.

  • Proven experience in an operations role within a scaling/growth company.
  • Expertise in leading operational processes, such as company cadence, KPIs, and company-wide meetings.
  • Proven ability to steer company culture, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in cash flow management, budgeting, and financial modeling.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of driving alignment and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment and capable of bringing structure and efficiency to complex challenges.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled at resolving client issues and addressing team challenges effectively, with a can-do mindset.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Demonstrated ability to prioritize customer satisfaction and resolve client issues efficiently, ensuring a seamless and positive experience throughout the customer journey.
  • Communication: Clear and confident communicator, capable of engaging with staff, clients, and directors.
