Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 Role in Year 1

A supportive primary school in Haringey is looking for a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil. This is a long-term role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young learner while working in a friendly and inclusive school environment.

• Start Date: Immediate or January 2025 start.
• Location: Haringey, with excellent transport links and just a short walk from nearby stations.
• Role: Long-term, providing tailored 1:1 support in Year 1.

• Provide focused 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil, assisting with their social, emotional, and academic development.
• Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans and ensure the pupil's needs are met.
• Foster a nurturing and encouraging environment to help the child feel safe and confident.
• Monitor the pupil's progress and collaborate with the wider school team to adapt strategies as needed.

• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, ideally with young children or those with additional needs.
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive individual who can work effectively in a dynamic classroom setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to process one.
