Summary
As the public face of Beningbrough, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £11.50 an hour
Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the contract. On average, you'll work 18 hours per week but this will be flexible depending on operational demand.
Usually, you will work 3-4 days a week, all daytime hours, working across both weekdays and weekends, including bank holidays. Rotas are released two months in advance.
Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 2nd November 2025
Interview dates: 26th, 27th and 28th January 2025
Potential start date: 10th February

From the teenager who inherited it, to its time as an RAF billet, Beningbrough was shaped for more than 300 years by the people who lived here. The architecture and collections on the ground floor tell the story of a country house, while the Reddihough Galleries on the first-floor host changing exhibitions of contemporary and traditional artwork.
Andy Sturgeon the award-winning international garden designer has created a long-term vision. The garden is now enjoying a revival with a Pergola, ha-ha walk and now open, a new Mediterranean Garden. These sit alongside traditional herbaceous borders and a walled kitchen garden providing year-round interest.
Reporting to the Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 16 working at Beningbrough Hall. You'll work both in admissions, welcoming visitors to the property and in the hall itself, engaging with visitors about our exciting exhibitions & Beningbrough’s history.
What you'll be doingDay to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can, whether you’re working in visitor admissions giving visitors the best possible start and end to their visit; or in the hall, bringing Beningbrough to life for visitors.
Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service.
As part of the Growing Support team, you'll understand and promote the value of membership to visitors. You'll be passionate about the work we do, and you'll feel comfortable chatting with visitors about way they can show support, through donations, gift aid, membership or our bookshops.
