Our Client:
This Interim Director of Finance role will be joining an international Charity, known for supporting girls and women across the world. This role operates within the context of a volunteer-led global charitable organisation with 153 Member Organisations.
The Role:
Working closely with the CEO and reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, as the Interim Director of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and proper financial management, meeting all financial obligations, and complying with relevant legal, fiscal, and regulatory requirements. in accordance with the highest standards of good practice in the charity sector.
The day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the finance function delivers exceptional finance services to the wider teams, with a high level of performance. Problem solve and make improvements as needed.
- Responsible for the delivery of statutory reporting and audit for all foreign subsidiaries and group accounts.
- Responsible for the multi-year budget, and forecasting process; to include quarterly reforecasting..
- Responsible for the provision of monthly management reporting, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to budget holders.
- Act as financial adviser to the Senior Management Team, providing sound advice, guidance and information on organisational performance, risks and opportunities.
- Provide relevant financial management information and explanations to the trustees’ Audit, Finance and Risk Committee (‘AFR’) to facilitate effective governance.
- Manage relationships with bankers, investment managers, accounting software providers, auditors and professional tax and accounting advisors/consultants.
- Manage the submission of regulatory and tax returns in the UK, including VAT.
- Oversee the financial operations of the subsidiary operations in the UK and overseas.
- Lead improvements in finance related policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency and effective internal control.
The Successful Candidate: - Proven experience operating at Director or Head of Finance level
- Familiarity with and experience in applying Charity SORP
- A strong track record of both hands-on financial management and active participation in a senior management team (SMT) and leadership roles
