JOB TITLE: Solution Architect

SALARY: £86,964 - £102,310

LOCATION: Leeds

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, in our Leeds office.

About this opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Solution Architect to join our innovative Stockbroking lab within the Insurance, Pensions, and Investments division. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of online trading by designing and implementing a streamlined, customer and colleague-focused platform that will redefine how our customers invest. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that enhance our digital presence and improve customer engagement.

What you'll do…

  • Design and develop scalable, robust, and secure architecture solutions for the enhanced stockbroking platform.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects, and Engineers to create and maintain the architectural runway for our platform teams.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and service providers to elaborate on solutions, validate technology assumptions, and evaluate implementation alternatives.
  • Ensure alignment of architectural solutions with business goals and technology strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

What you’ll need experience in:

  • Designing and implementing complex, large-scale architecture solutions.
  • Common enterprise integration patterns
  • Working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
  • Microservices, event-based architecture and API design.
  • Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Designing to meet complex security principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Containerisation and orchestration tools e.g. Docker, Kubernetes etc
  • Working in a regulated environment and designing to meet compliance requirements.

And the following experience would be really useful:

  • Domain driven design principles and pattern
  • Delivering software solutions in financial services (particularly trading/investments or wealth)
  • Delivering large scale data migrations (500k+ customers)
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF.
