What ASEND Tuition Is
We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in Ruislip. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school.

Pay: £30 - 38 per hour
Location: Ruislip
Contract: Part-time
Working hours: 3 hours per week
About the role
We are looking for a tutor to support a 15 year old boy in Ruislip. He has diagnoses of autism and ADHD and some medical needs which can make navigating daily life challenging. He becomes anxious about attending school and is demand avoidant. He is a bright young man who loves gaming, aviation and Formula One. Our pupil is looking to obtain a qualification in Functional Skills English, so a tutor who is comfortable teaching at this level would be essential. A tutor who can also help with social skills work would be a great bonus. He also benefits from the use of assistive technology, so a tutor who has experience with this would be crucial in helping to make a difference in this young man’s learning and help him succeed in his academics.

About you:
You’ll have some experience with SEN: ASD, ADHD, demand avoidance, medical needs
You’ll have experience helping pupil progress in their academic learning
You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way
You’ll have a passion for helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
You’ll be good at building rapport and strong relationships with children and their families - we work closely with families to create a plan
Ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
Have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
Use a person-centred approach in their work
Make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that you plan and do
Have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement.
