Job Purpose As a Senior Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a client portfolio, ensuring exceptional service delivery across both compliance and advisory work. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of approximately 280 personal tax clients
- Leading the preparation and review of personal tax returns (approximately 80% compliance)
- Providing bespoke advisory services, including capital gains tax planning and ad hoc tax matters (approximately 20% advisory)
- Ensuring compliance and deadlines are met for all clients
- Acting as the main client contact, addressing queries, and offering proactive solutions
- Identifying opportunities for tax planning to add value to clients
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members to nurture their professional growth
- Keeping up-to-date with tax legislation and advising clients on relevant changes

The Successful Applicant - Extensive experience in personal tax management, ideally within a practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance and advisory services
- Proven ability to manage a large and diverse client portfolio
- Excellent client relationship skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational abilities with the capability to meet multiple deadlines
- Leadership and mentoring experience to guide and develop junior team members
- A recognised tax qualification (such as ATT or CTA) is preferred but not essential with relevant experience
