Role Summary
The individual will work on various projects simultaneously, providing support and assistance to the Project Stakeholders and Project Managers during the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring all testing processes and procedures are followed as detailed in the Test Strategy and Test Plans.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Write test planning and approach documentation.
- Prioritise and manage the delivery of QA tasks for the relevant area in line with Waterfall development methodologies for configuration projects to ensure compliance with STLC & SDLC governance.
- Manage and review test estimation, scope of test effort and associated risk assessment reviews for proposed projects.
- Implementing changes to the testing of configuration processes to the pension, payroll administration systems
- Use own technical knowledge and experience to provide practical support to the team in the testing and QA of software and platforms in the relevant area to ensure they meet and/or exceeds customer expectations.
- Manage team performance to ensure work is delivered within the appropriate quality standards, project management requirements, status reporting expectations, and escalation processes.
- Engage and motivate the Testing and QA team in the relevant area to sustain high performance, including setting objectives, managing and reviewing performance in line with EQ business and EQRS strategic plans, and providing opportunities for professional, technical and career development where appropriate.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and behaviours and able to fulfil the roles:
- Must have experience of working with programme / project managers to derive the main testing milestones and associated risk reviews.
- Ability to manage and control the delegation of work across multiples projects, monitoring the resource schedules, individual timesheets and the MI reports for cost control.
- Having a background on UK pensions and payroll to be able to clearly transfer knowledge on the complexities of UK pensions and payroll to onshore and offshore test professionals would be advantageous.
- Must have a solid background in test risk management, with experience to assess when enough testing has taken place while assessing the risks.
- Either SC (Security Check) or DV (Developed Vetting) clearances will be required, so any previous clearances (open or expired) is advantageous.
- Working with BAs on monitoring change control against original requirements for impact analysis ensuring these are captured within a traceability matrix or within Ms DevOps/Jira
- Technical Standards and Processes: Creating a test strategy for a programme or project; Setting testing standards across the team; Defining quality stage gate.
