Job Title: Infrastructure Manager
Location: Gloucester (Hybrid, 2 days per week in office)
Salary: Up to £57,000 per annum
About the Role:
My client is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to lead our IT infrastructure operations and drive our technology forward. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the organisation’s tech infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, software, security, and databases. Your focus will be to ensure our systems meet the needs of the business both now and in the future, with a critical eye on performance, security, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing IT Team: Guide and mentor a skilled IT team, cultivating a collaborative environment that encourages technical growth and teamwork. Keep pace with the latest technologies, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Optimise System Performance and Uptime: Ensure all systems are operational at peak performance. Oversee server maintenance, network operations, and software updates to guarantee minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Safeguard Data Integrity and Availability: Develop and enforce robust policies for data backup, recovery, and uptime. Regularly monitor these processes to protect the organisation’s valuable data assets.
- Implement and Oversee Monitoring and Testing: Manage performance testing protocols for hardware, software, and networks. Use data analytics to proactively address and resolve potential issues that may impact operations.
- Maintain Robust Security Measures: Lead efforts to protect our systems from unauthorised access, cyber threats, and data breaches by implementing best-in-class security practices.
- Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Instil a culture of innovation, personal growth, and continuous improvement within your team. Promote strong collaboration across the ICT and Digital teams, adopting a unified approach to service delivery.
About You - Experience:
- Experience of networks, server management, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
- Experience of Azure including Arc.
- Experience of managing physical and virtual servers to ensure high availability and performance.
- Supervising the operation of data centres.
- Integrating and managing cloud services.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Technical expertise in IT systems, hardware and software.
- In-depth knowledge of virtualisation technologies
- Strategic thinking and problem solving abilities.
- Familiarity with ITIL, network security, and asset management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to technical issues
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, and configuration management.
- Intricate knowledge of operating systems
- Leadership and Problem Solving:
- A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate across departments.
- Skilled at managing projects, budgets, and building strong team dynamics.
