Join a Corporate Resources team as a Management Accountant, where you will provide essential financial management support and business advice to a service department. This role is crucial in ensuring strong financial governance and strategic financial planning within a local authority.

• Gain a thorough understanding of the Department and its operations to ensure financial advice supports effective decision making.
• Keep updated with changes in the Council’s operations, providing relevant financial advice on partnerships and projects.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Department’s needs to identify financial issues and support the Business Partner team.
• Deliver accurate and timely financial information for the Service Department, including financial reporting, analysis, and planning.
• Support the development of management reports and systems to link financials with operational activity and targeted outcomes.
• Explore options to optimise financial performance both short and long term, and support financial analysis for continuous improvement.
• Ensure the Council’s financial management policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented within the Department.
• Provide support for an efficient year-end closure of accounts.

• Fully AAT, Part Qualified or Fully CCAB Qualified
• Experience within a Management Accounting role
• Experience in accounting procedures within a complex financial environment.
• Proficiency in communicating technical financial information to non-finance specialists.
• Experience with large footprint ERP systems, preferably Oracle, and reporting tools is highly desirable
• Involvement in finance or business projects, with an understanding of project management principles.
