Role Responsibilities
  • Payroll Management: End-to-end payroll processing for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Payments: Managing BACs payment processing.
  • Client Interaction: Direct client contact and query resolution.
  • Deadline Management: Ensuring timely completion of all payroll tasks.
  • Team Support: Assisting and supervising junior staff (Assistant Manager level).
About the Firm

The Payroll team manages approximately 85 payrolls, ranging from single-director companies to businesses with up to 100 employees.

With clients spanning sectors such as retail, charities, technology, and agriculture, this is an opportunity to develop your expertise in a diverse and collaborative environment.

Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years (Senior) or 3 years (Assistant Manager) payroll experience, handling multiple payrolls or significant size/complexity
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Auto-enrolment pensions
    • Statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
    • Holiday pay legislation and minimum wage compliance
    • HMRC RTI legislation and directors' payments
  • Practical knowledge of payroll processing, including managing multiple priorities
  • Competent IT skills, particularly with MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong communication skills for clear and effective client and team interactions
  • Self-motivated with a positive problem-solving approach
