Transport Planner

Transport Planner – Wakefield – Salary up to £44,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively with an innovative global business based in Wakefield who are looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join their team. This role will suit someone ideally from a chilled or frozen logistics background and a CPC qualification would be highly desirable.

Transport Planner Duties:

• Maintain driver’s hours map
• Book agency drivers as required from supplier
• Support to ensure sufficient resources are available to fulfil plans
• Sell loads to subcontractor as required with agreed prices and margin
• Buy backhaul loads as available in line with requirements
• Ensure all work undertaken is raised correctly and comprehensive information is recorded on TMS
• Consolidate orders in most efficient manner
• Route multi-drops in most appropriate manner
• Plan trailers to maximum use at point of consolidation
• Maintain drivers holiday plan in line with company requirements

Hours: Full time Sunday to Thursday 9am – 5:30pm (30 min lunch)

Required skills & experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential with knowledge of transport planning and operations
• Knowledge of driver’s hours regulations and working time rules
• Good knowledge of UK geography and able to estimate journey times
• Great verbal communication skills and an ability to build rapport
