Group MIS Manager

Our Tamworth based client is looking for a Group MIS Manager to join their team.

Your role would involve leading the MIS team to manage and optimise business software systems, including ERP, WMS, and CRM, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Key duties include team management, performance oversight, and professional development. Responsibilities extend to software ownership, compliance, updates, vendor management, and security, ensuring adherence to standards like GDPR. The role also focuses on business process improvement, cross-department collaboration, training, and user support. Additionally, the position includes developing analytics and reporting tools, monitoring KPIs, and driving innovation through research and implementation of emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and decision-making across the organisation.

As a Group MIS Manager, you will need to have/be:

  • Batchelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • Experience in software management and vendor management, with experience in ERP, CRM, WMS and similar systems
  • In-depth knowledge of software systems and experience managing vendor relationships
  • Exceptional communication, project management and team collaboration abilities
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Expertise in data security practices and managing backup solutions
  • Advanced understanding of computer hardware, software, protocols and systems
  • Extensive experience working with large scale systems and databases
  • Comprehensive understanding of data security policies and procedures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with strong project management expertise

Details:

  • Salary: £50, 000 - £70, 000
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours
  • Location: Tamworth (on site)

Role of Group MIS Manager:

  • Team Management
    • Lead and develop the MIS team to support business software systems effectively.
    • Foster collaboration and cross-departmental communication.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.
    • Ensure the team has the skills to optimise systems and deliver support.
    • Set objectives, manage performance, and provide regular feedback
  • Software Ownership and Management
    • Oversee business software applications (ERP, WMS, CRM, etc.).
    • Ensure software licensing compliance and manage vendor contracts.
    • Plan and execute timely software updates with minimal downtime.
  • Business Process Improvement
    • Collaborate with teams to identify efficiency-boosting software solutions.
    • Recommend improvements based on system performance and feedback.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management
    • Maintain strong relationships with software vendors.
    • Negotiate contracts and monitor SLAs for quality and value.
  • Collaboration and Integration
    • Partner with IT teams to integrate software with infrastructure systems.
    • Align systems with organisational goals and ensure consistent data management.
  • Security and Data Management
    • Implement and enforce software security policies.
    • Oversee data integrity, backups, and application-level security.
    • Ensure compliance with standards like GDPR and manage access controls.
  • Training and Support
    • Oversee software implementation across group companies
    • Organise training to ensure effective software use.
    • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Develop dashboards to deliver actionable business insights.
    • Ensure data accuracy and accessibility for informed decision-making.
    • Define KPIs and performance metrics aligned with business goals.
  • Research and Development
    • Research new technologies to maintain a competitive software landscape.
    • Implement beneficial updates and features to improve processes.
    • Assess vendor roadmaps to identify potential system enhancements.
