Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and maintain plant equipment during production shifts, addressing breakdowns promptly.
- Perform both reactive and preventive maintenance to enhance equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to execute maintenance schedules and implement plant improvements.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments for systems like steam, compressed air, and hydraulics.
- Support engineering projects and contribute ideas for operational enhancements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure consistent staffing levels by covering shifts when needed.
Candidate Profile:
- A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., ONC, NVQ Level 3).
- Proven experience in both preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Knowledge of welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics is desirable.
- A safety-conscious mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Adaptability and resilience to work in a fast-paced environment.
