The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading and award-winning global manufacturing business based in Teesside, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key strategic role in the Senior Leadership Team, reporting in to the Finance Director and with responsibility for a team of 6. A person with strong leadership and communication skills and a manufacturing background will do well in this role.
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Lead the finance team to provide accurate and timely information, enhancing value and supporting strategic decisions.
- Ensure timely completion of local and group reports, converting to IFRS when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with Parent Company management and finance teams.
- Perform monthly reviews of P&L, balance sheets, and ledgers to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Oversee the annual financial audit process, including the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Develop annual budgets.
- Supervise all internal audit controls and compliance.
- Uphold financial policies and departmental procedures.
- Act as a deputy for the Finance Director when needed.
You will be/have: - Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years PQE with manufacturing industry experience
- Highly effective communicator
- Understanding of Standard costing calculations and methodology
- Previous demonstrable experience in a similar Management role
- Highly experienced with MS Office
- Experience with BI tools
- Knowledge of SOX
