Commercial Insurance Underwriter - Tunbridge Wells - salary up to £34,000 plus benefits

We are currently working with a well-established commercial insurance business who are now looking for a Commercial Underwriter to join their team based in Tunbridge Wells. You’ll be working in a collaborative environment alongside a team of five Underwriters within an office of 35 colleagues. Key Objectives & Responsibilities

• Deliver a compliant and outstanding service to our Partner Brokers and clients at all stages of their journey
• Contribute to the team’s success by meeting targets for volume, income, and quality.
• Identify opportunities to expand or develop new business in line with our vision to be "the complete broker."
• Demonstrate a culture of winning delivery, while maintaining high standards of service.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About You

• Has a solid commercial insurance background, ideally with experience in classes such as Employers Liability, Public Liability, and Contractors Liability.
• Has experience in Delegated Authority or Schemes (preferable).
• Holds or is working towards a relevant qualification (e.g., Cert CII).
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers.
• Is detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a busy environment.
• Is proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally has experience with Acturis.
• Has sound judgement when making decisions or offering advice and knows when to escalate or seek expert input.
