The Role As a Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of taxation for a diverse portfolio of clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on a wide range of tax matters including Personal Tax, Trust Tax, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, VAT, Research and Development, and tax planning. Corporation Tax experience is an advantage.
  • Preparing and reviewing complex Personal Tax Returns and working paper files.
  • Assisting and training colleagues in Trust Tax.
  • Providing ad hoc advisory services and written reports for clients.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and accounting standards.
  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients and liaising with them on planning opportunities.
  • Reporting directly to the partners and contributing to the development of the tax department to expand client offerings.
  • Overseeing one trainee within your team and fostering their development.

About You We’re looking for an individual with the expertise, drive, and leadership skills to thrive in this role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications and Experience:

    • CTA qualified with strong experience in both personal and corporate tax.
    • A good knowledge of VAT, Research and Development, Trusts, Inheritance Tax, and overseas tax implications.
    • STEP qualification is preferred.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in various accounting software packages and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
    • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently and clearly.
    • Proven leadership abilities to motivate, train, and guide colleagues.
