We are looking for an Assistant Manager who will provide support to the Managers within our Accounting and Financial Reporting team in Birmingham and profitably manage a portfolio of clients. As an Assistant Manager you will manage team resource to ensure the highest possible standards of client service whilst taking an active role in identifying business development opportunities.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Taking the lead on delivering complex accountancy related projects for clients as they arise, for example IFRS transition consultancy work or support on acquisition accounting and complex consolidations.
  • Providing insights to our clients drawing on the firm’s depth of resources and help to introduce other service lines as you build those relationships.
  • Supervising and coaching junior team members in the preparation of financial statements that are compliant with FRS 102, FRS 101, IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Delivering exceptional client service through regular updates and being the point of contact for all communications.

  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ or equivalent).
  • Excellent compliance skills with limited supervision, including knowledge of FRS 102, 101, IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Proven ability to quickly build rapport with client principals and colleagues.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, adhering strictly to client reporting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel.
  • Previous experience of supervising of junior team members.
