Stevenage with Hybrid Working
At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow - professionally and personally - in ways you never thought possible. We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.
What you’ll be doing
As a Financial Controller, you will oversee the IET’s international financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with regulations, and robust financial controls. You will oversee statutory and monthly management reporting for our non-UK subsidiaries, manage UK treasury and investment activities, and provide strategic financial advice and presentations to senior stakeholders and committees.
Working with a skilled finance team, you will foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement while supporting year-end audits and risk management processes. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in supporting fundraising activities, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and adherence to regulatory requirements.
By cultivating strong relationships with external advisors and internal teams, you will contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient, and compliant financial operations that align with the IET’s strategic objectives.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We’re looking for a qualified ACA finance professional with proven experience in managing complex financial operations, including statutory reporting, treasury management, and driving process improvement. You’ll bring strong leadership skills to develop and inspire teams while building and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences will be key.
With a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, you’ll be adept at identifying risks, streamlining processes, and providing strategic insights to support effective decision-making. Experience with international operations, investment monitoring, and systems such as Agresso Unit 4 will be highly advantageous, as will familiarity with charity reporting (Charities SORP) and fundraising governance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and confident financial leader to combine technical expertise and strategic thinking to make a meaningful impact.
