Assistant Accountant

We are currently exclusively working with an organisation based in Derby to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their team, reporting into the head of finance you will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments and variance analysis reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation who are going from strength to strength.

Applicants will need to have experience of the production of Management Accounts and ideally be from a manufacturing or engineering background. Applicants will ideally be AAT qualified and looking to pursue a CIMA qualification.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare Monthly Management Accounts
• Accruals & Prepayments
• Journals
• Monthly project cost analysis
• Prepare Budgets, Cashflow & Forecasts
• Creating cost centres
• Variance analysis
• Payroll preparation monthly
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register
• VAT Returns
• Assist with year end accounts
• Business partnering across other business units
