About the Role
Are you passionate about heritage, archives, and storytelling? We are looking for an experienced Archive Researcher Manager to lead a remarkable heritage project celebrating 150 years of the Cambridge Corn Exchange. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the first-ever collection of archive materials and oral histories about this iconic building, culminating in a public exhibition to be launched in November 2025. Working closely with the Project Manager and community partners, you will play a vital role in creating a lasting legacy, supporting public engagement, and developing new digital and educational assets.
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify relevant archive materials about the Cambridge Corn Exchange.
Select and oversee the digitisation of key materials to be shared on the website.
Collaborate with and support volunteer researchers.
Maintain best practices in archival care and advise on exhibition materials.
Conduct heritage research to uncover content and stories for the exhibition, digital assets, and heritage tours.
Facilitate community workshops to collect oral histories and discuss the building's history.
Ensure compliance with GDPR and intellectual property legislation.
We are looking for a candidate with:
Proven experience in archival research, digitisation, and project management.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, particularly with volunteers and community groups.
Knowledge of archival care standards, GDPR, and IP compliance.
A creative and enthusiastic approach to heritage storytelling.
