Prospero Teaching are recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to join Special Education Needs School in New Malden, within the London Borough of Merton, in Southwest London.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in a specialist school, you will provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them engage with tasks and adapt materials to suit their abilities. You will promote inclusion by fostering positive peer interactions and ensuring every pupil feels valued. You will implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs), manage behaviour effectively, and provide emotional support. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils can thrive.
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: New Malden, Southwest London
Full-Time: 5 days per week
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, plus parent evenings
Salary: Minimum rate GBP90 per day
Start Date: ASAP (January 2025)
End Date: On-going
Contract Type (temp/perm/temp to perm): Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent
School Type: A specialist community school catering to students aged 5 to 16 with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated speech, language, and communication needs.
SEN Needs: ASD, speech and language.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 1 year supporting SEN pupils
· Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST
· Hold Right to Work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
· Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
