• Salary: £34,600 - £38,350 depending on experience
• Location: West Thurrock

About the Role: SGS is currently looking for a Cargo Surveyor to join our dynamic team. As a Cargo Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in inspecting, sampling, and ensuring compliance with cargo operations across the sector. This position is perfect for individuals with a strong understanding of seafaring operations or those with logistics and fuel handling experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting surveys and inspections of cargo during loading, unloading, and transportation.
• Ensuring that cargo handling and storage meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Managing documentation related to cargo quantities, qualities, and conditions.
• Providing accurate reports on findings and advising on corrective measures if needed.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For:

• Former military personnel, particularly those from the Navy, with hands-on experience in seafaring or cargo operations.
• Professionals with a background in logistics, fuel handling, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders.

Driving license that can be used in the UK, is essential for this role.
