Job Overview:

We are working on behalf of a growing organisation in Newton Abbot who are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to assist the busy finance department on a permanent, full time basis. The role will report into the Financial Controller and be a varied transactional finance position covering the purchase ledger, supplier liaison and bank reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile supplier invoices for payment processing
• Assist in the accounts payable and receivable function.
• Manage and monitor all payment runs.
• Bank reconciliations
• Entering financial data onto finance systems
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of financial processes.
• AAT level 2 qualified or above is also beneficial.
• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software (ideally Sage 50) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
