Butler Job, Live in

Accommodation: Separate 1 bedroom flat

Salary: £45-£50K gross per annum

An experienced Butler is required for a live-in role in a large Chelsea home You would be looking after a gentleman who spends the week in London and are mostly out of London on the weekends. Four grown-up children don’t live at the residence but on occasion will visit. The principal entertains mainly in the country however occasionally will have dinners in London where you will be expected to know how to lay the table and serve. The principal has 2 dogs so you must be dog friendly. You would be responsible for overseeing the housekeeper.

• Household maintenance and preparing the fires
• Housekeeping (with extra focus on heavier duties e.g. using ladders for changing lightbulbs / attending to curtains etc
• Building a rapport with contractors and arranging visits where necessary and approved
• Ensuring a domestic staff member accompanies contractors during their visit to the house
• Having a good grasp of the household systems - e.g. heating, electric, Sky and Sonos
• Preparing meeting rooms & offering refreshments for guests
• Serving at formal dinners
• Greeting formal guests and unpacking for male guests
• Driving the Principals when required
• Other driving duties e.g. collecting art/objects and taking them between properties
• Valet duties i.e. looking after the male principal and taking care of his clothes/shoes
• Being security-aware regarding all visitors to the house
• Share joint responsibility for helping to ensure that the property is always secure particularly at night and setting alarm if the family are not in residence.
• Ad-hoc duties when required

Working days & hours: Monday - Friday - 9am - 5.30pm
