About the role
This is a great opportunity in our Specialist Support Team to make a real difference to the lives of people we support. We are looking for someone with experience in designing, implementing and embedding person centred assessment and intervention in line with Positive Behaviour Support approaches. Your enthusiasm, drive for quality, excellent communication skills and track record of getting things done are needed. Duties will include:
- To role model and act as an organisational resource on best practice in supporting people using a Positive Behaviour Support framework across Certitude.
- To carry out functional assessments, analyse data, develop PBS strategies and plans and develop a plan for implementation based on robust mediator analysis.
- To ensure all assessments are person centred, robust and accurately reflect risk factors for the person, people around them and to the organisation.
- To support the development of Certitude’s local offer (building capability and competency) through training and coaching in PBS.
- To assist in the development of Certitude’s offer to supporting people who are at risk of exclusion from universal services and at risk of being admitted to hospital.
About you
To be a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at Certitude, the following are essential:
- Hold a relevant undergraduate, or post graduate qualification in Psychology, Positive Behaviour Support, Behaviour Analysis or Autism/Learning Disability.
- An understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism including those with complex health needs, additional mental health needs and complex support needs.
- Experience of using functional assessments and developing PBS strategies.
- Experience of using data analysis to design and develop support plans, intervention strategies and monitoring improvements in quality of life in collaboration with support teams and families.
- Experience of developing strong relationships with individuals and families built on trust and respect.
