About the job

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, and dedicated Team Manager to join our Child Protection Case Conference Team.

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work using strength-based models of social work practice and motivational interviewing? If so we have an exciting opportunity here at Bury for you to join our Child Protection Case Conference Team.

As the Team Manager you will lead a team comprising of a 3 Child Protection Case Conference Chairs, a CiN/YPP Independent Reviewing Officer and support with the workload of the Business Support Team. You will work alongside and support the IRO Team manager and provide management cover in this area.

We are the first authority within the Greater Manchester area to implement and pioneer Herefordshire's Family Safeguarding model. This is a fantastic opportunity to change the way we work with children and families in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children of Bury.

Within Family Safeguarding we use motivational interviewing and a multi-agency approach under the Family Safeguarding model, where Social Workers, Family Support Workers, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Recovery Workers, Mental Health Practitioners, and Psychologists collaborate closely to address family issues efficiently, reducing the need for referrals to other agencies.

We need you to be an experienced practitioner with at least 5 years post qualification experienced under your belt and a full understanding of and experience of working within a Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit.

You will be experienced in chairing meetings and able to handle complex and competing demands to ensure the best outcomes possible for children and young people.

You will need to be comfortable working in a multi-agency environment and able to question and challenge partner agencies in the same way as our social care colleagues.

To help us achieve our ambitions for children and families we are looking for dedicated, and compassionate Team Manager who is child focused and committed to relationship-based social work to join us. You will be a qualified social worker, registered with SW England.

We strive to provide a supportive and dynamic work environment for our employees with a strong focus on support, training and development and health and wellbeing.
