Financial Accountant, Secondary School

Exclusive Education are seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant for a maternity cover position at a school in Chester.

The Financial Accountant plays a pivotal role in providing financial support and guidance to our academies, ensuring effective financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements. Working closely with senior leadership teams.You will be experienced in managing all aspects of financial transactions processing, financial reconciliation, and an effective administrator to support the wider finance team.

The role is 34 hours per week on a long term basis.

The role will include;

• Oversee day to day financial management
• Month end reconciliation and reporting at academy and consolidated level
• Payment and payroll processing
• Audit management and control
• Ensuring compliance with Funding Agreement and Academies Financial Handbook
• Handling calls, emails and general enquiries
• Liaising with parents, teachers and other agencies
• Arrange supply staff
• Ensure the pupils safety and follow school policy

To be considered for the role you must have:

• At least 6 months experience within the last 2 years
• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
• Evidence of relevant and sustained CPD
• Proven experience of financial accounting
• This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, cost of which will be met by the applicant, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks
