Technical Support Engineer

  • £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE) + up to 15% bonus + company car/allowance

The Role

As part of SciMed’s continued growth, we are recruiting for a newly created role of Parr Pressure Vessel System Support Engineer.  This position is to work alongside the 2 Sales Product Mangers supporting them in the sales, implementation and after-sales field service of all Parr pressure vessel projects and installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for pressure-rated systems, including design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Diagnose system issues and recommend solutions for safe, optimal performance.
  • Oversee successful installation and commissioning of systems, including site surveys and equipment procurement.
  • Use CAD software to create and modify technical drawings and process diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards such as PED and PSSRs.
  • Deliver on-site and remote technical support, performance testing, and customer training.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, addressing technical queries and feedback.
  • Support warehouse operations during holiday cover, including goods handling and documentation.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will be an experienced engineer with a strong technical background in pressure-rated systems. About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering (or related field).
  • Experience with pressure vessels and pressure-rated equipment.
  • Proficiency in P&ID, PFD diagrams, and CAD design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving license with willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland.
  • Familiarity with PED, ASME, and design codes such as PD5500 is desirable.
  • Knowledge of materials science and process control systems is desirable.
