Project Manager - Development / Rheolwr Prosiect - Datblygu

Summary

We're looking for a Project Manager to take the lead in the early stages of a number of important projects. You’ll work with the client to define the scope of each project, leading the design and development, through to business case sign off and potentially the award of external funding.

Based at one of our regional offices in Wales, our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40-60% of your working week.

This is a fixed term role for 2 years

Internally you’ll be known as a Project Manager.

First stage interviews will held on 31 January 2025 and will be conducted virtually.

Rydym yn chwilio am Reolwr Prosiect i arwain ar gamau cynnar sawl prosiect pwysig. Byddwch yn gweithio gyda’r cleient i ddiffinio cwmpas pob prosiect, gan arwain ar y gwaith o ddylunio a datblygu, hyd at gymeradwyo achos busnes ac o bosibl, dyfarnu cyllid allanol.

Wedi’ch lleoli yn un o’n swyddfeydd rhanbarthol yng Nghymru, mae ein polisi gweithio hybrid yn golygu y gallwch gydbwyso gweithio yn y swyddfa a gartref gydag ymweliadau safle a chyfarfodydd yn lleoliadau eraill yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol. Byddwn yn sgwrsio am hyn yn fanylach yn y cyfweliad, ond dylech ddisgwyl bod ar un o safleoedd yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol am 40-60% o'ch wythnos waith.

You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and other project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen. We work closely with our fundraising consultants so that we’re developing projects that delight our external funders. Using our project management tools and framework, you’ll ensure the projects stay on track for budget and delivery. These projects could be nature conservation focussed, or address our built environment needs or help deliver our Everyone Welcome ambitions, or any other aspect of the National Trust strategy. We’ll give you support in all aspects of National Trust project management.

During the next two years you’ll take the lead on a number of new projects, particularly in the scoping and design stages. With the client and internal stakeholders, and with external partners, you’ll shape the project from concept through to business case and in many cases, to application for external funding. You’ll work with others in the consultancy, drawing in their expertise as needed. You’ll create project plans, identify risks, comply with all reporting requirements and governance to ensure you generate support for your projects.

• successful experience of leading projects through all stages and across all areas of project management responsibility including defining resources, leading procurement, securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
• a great track record of designing and developing projects with clients and stakeholders to meet all objectives and outcomes
• experience of working on high value Heritage Lottery or similarly funded projects 
• experience of working with external partners in designing, developing and delivering projects 
• a confident communicator, working with a wide range of people both internally and externally 
• focused on giving a great service to your clients, using your skills to understand, influence, negotiate and find solutions
• adept at managing your time, costs and quality with a busy and varied workload, with some experience of managing small projects.
