Location: Park Royal, Middlesex, London
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am - 6pm; Friday, 9am - 5pm

As an Accounts Assistant, you will oversee a range of critical financial tasks, supporting the company’s operations and contributing to its continued success. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you’ll also supervise a Junior Bookkeeper and play a pivotal role in enhancing processes and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.

• Month-End Processes: Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset depreciation.
• Reporting: Generate purchase reports, including commission and freight charges, and weekly management reports such as aged TB and sales reports.
• VAT and Reconciliation: Complete quarterly VAT returns and reconcile balance sheets.
• Customer Payments: Allocate payments, oversee sales invoices, and assist with debt collection.
• Team Support: Mentor a Junior Bookkeeper and collaborate on ad hoc projects with the Management Accountant.

You’ll bring a solid background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to your work. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to grow with the company.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (minimum 5 years).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Accounts Assistant in the UK.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
• Positive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ambitious and driven, with a desire to grow professionally.
