Rate of pay: £14 p/h
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Shift pattern: 5 out of 7
Term time + 6 weeks
Previous catering experience required at supervisory level & enhanced DBS
Key Responsibilities
- To report health and safety issues to your line manager, including all accidents and near misses
- To assist in all food production areas with basic food preparation in accordance with menu cycle requirements, preparing, producing and serving food to the brand standard required on site
- Ensure menus and digital screen menus are displayed prior to service
- To attend/run a team briefing before service using the buzz brief guidelines
- Pre-check all allergens and menus to ensure they are the relevant ones before your briefing
- Ensure that the correct service equipment and menu accompaniments are available prior to service
- All fridge and food temperatures to be recorded as per Food Safety Logbook. Any discrepancies to be recorded and actioned immediately with your line manager
- Ensure M-Pro 5 has been completed prior to food service
- Ensure staff are serving customers with hot and cold food and beverages during service times in line with unit policy, using correct equipment
- Inform Chef/Manager in advance of any menu shortages to ensure a quick and efficient service and to keep queues to a minimum
- Ensure daily cleaning schedules are followed and all displays, counters and seating areas are kept clean and comply with company and statutory health and hygiene requirements
- Collect all allergen records, menus, and briefings after service and file these in the correct folders
- To assist in the preparation and oversee hospitality as required
- To clean all work areas during and after use and remove all food waste to the appropriate area and ensure all weights of food waste and tray counts are recorded and given to the Dining Room Manager daily
- To observe and comply with all Profit Protection Unit Procedures relating to cash handling and security, reporting any issues to the catering manager
- To receive stock, store and check for quality and quantity; ensuring that all stock is dated and rotated and that all areas are fully stocked
- To label any open stock with the correct allergen and expiry dates before and after service using company guidelines
- Assist with clearing of trays. Assist in the kitchen and dish wash area when necessary, during and after service ensuring the dishwash area is left clean after each service
- To operate machinery as shown and trained to do so, ensuring that the equipment is used safely and supervise staff as required in accordance with current regulations and company policies
- Be prepared to assist colleagues in a willing and positive manner including assisting with other duties as required
- Complete closing checklist during the late shift ensuring all stock is labelled and packed away correctly, all work areas are left clean and set up for the next shift, all doors, windows are secured, and lights switched off before leaving the premises. The back door is secured and alarmed before leaving
- Be prepared to attend all relevant training sessions, meetings and complete any mandatory e-learning assigned to yourself within the allocated time frame
