The Management Accountant is responsible for preparing, developing, and analysing key financial information to ensure the organisation's management makes well-informed decisions. This role involves financial forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring financial performance.

What you'll do:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
    • Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
    • Monitor budgets against actual performance and provide insights on discrepancies.
  • Cost Analysis:
    • Analyse costs and identify potential efficiencies.
    • Assist in pricing decisions and cost control measures.
  • Financial Modelling:
    • Create and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Business Partnering:
    • Work closely with operational and non-financial teams to provide financial insights.
    • Present financial data to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Compliance and Controls:
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
    • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Systems and Processes:
    • Assist in the improvement and automation of financial systems and processes.
    • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

What you'll need:

  • Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner.
  • Experience in management accounting, ideally within a commercial environment.
