About our School

Ellis Guilford School is a growing and thriving larger-than-average secondary school with a clear mission "to ensure that children attending our school have a better chance of success". With a recently graded "Good" Ofsted in 2023, Ellis Guilford is at an extremely exciting point in its journey. We deliver a broad curriculum and have an extensive co-curricular offer to support our children to become confident, independent and balanced individuals and to allow all pupils to exceed their potential. We do this by putting our values of equality, integrity and ambition at the core of everything we do.

About the Facilities Team

The Facilities Team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean environment conducive to learning. Many areas, from building maintenance to security, are effectively managed by the team to ensure that classrooms and common areas are well equipped and functional. By coordinating with other schools in the trust, they can share resources and best practices, enhancing the overall efficiency and quality of the facilities. Their efforts ensure that students and staff have a comfortable and supportive environment, allowing them to focus on education and personal development.

About You

As an Assistant Facilities Manager at Ellis Guilford School, you will bring a keen eye for detail, be self-motivated and have a commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. You will need to thrive when working autonomously in the role, assist with the organisation and management of contractors on site, be able to drive projects to practical completion and undertake as required repair and maintenance work whilst dealing effectively with day-to-day facilities issues as they arise. To be successful, you will have:

  • Experience in managing facilities within a large school or similar setting in the education sector.
  • (Preferably) a recognised health and safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or similar as a minimum) or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Experience of using a facilities management system and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven initiative and ability to work without direct supervision, taking entire responsibility for tasks, prioritising and scheduling your own workload.
  • A first-rate, customer-focused and flexible approach to work.

To apply for the Assistant Facilities Manager opportunity, you must hold at least a GCSE grade C/5 or equivalent in English and Maths.
