We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivational Team Leader to join our expanding Third Party Property Damage Claims Team. Our busy department is responsible for managing the biggest claims spend in The ACORN group. We pride ourselves on our commitment to supporting customers who have been involved in an incident with a Third Party.
As a PD Operational Team Leader, you will have a focus on building the competence of your direct reports and will enable your team to continuously develop and expand their individual skills. You will be a confident communicator who can react quickly to change as well as help manage and minimize the cost of Third Party Claims.

Location: Liverpool or Sevenoaks, office based/hybrid working
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours between 9:00am and 5:30pm
Salary: £33,000 - £42,000 plus an achievable annual bonus of £2500 paid quarterly
What you will be doing:
• Leading a team of Third-Party damage handlers within our Property Damage department
• Responsible for delivery of Team KPIs to support Department targets
• Performance management of staff, dealing with all aspects of people management including quality auditing, absence, holidays, and time management, adhering to SLA’s, monthly one to ones, performance reviews, training and development, disciplinary procedure, and staff welfare
• Undertaking handler audits of a minimum of 5 file audits per handler per month highlighting trends, training and development needs along with driving integral data within the claim file, effective settlement of Third Party claims and prompt correct liability decision making
• Impart technical knowledge to the team by way of mentoring and coaching with the ability to display a thorough knowledge on areas of indemnity and liability.
• Maximise liability opportunities by promoting bold decision making and proactive claims management
• To participate in the design, development and implementation of new claims management process improvements and assist with the design and delivery of training
• Ensure telephony service standards are met and call philosophies are adhered to
What we’re looking for:
• Experience of motor claims is essential
• Experience in handling and/or managing Third Party damage claims is desired but not essential
• Proven ability to positively influence team members through a culture of openness, trust, and respect to achieve optimum performance
• Proactive decision maker who can deliver results
• Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Creative problem solver, with ability to see the bigger picture
• Responsive to change with a commitment to continuous improvement
• Persuasive, strong, and confident communication skills
• People Management experience essential
