As we look ahead to an exciting future, we are searching for an enthusiastic and dedicated Distribution & Logistics Manager to join our depot based in Auchtermuchty!

We are looking for a Distribution & Logistics Manager to support our Head of Distribution in the transformation of our logistics and distribution operations.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in implementing new systems from scratch, particularly in businesses transitioning from legacy systems or traditional practices to more modern, efficient solutions.

You will oversee operations across multiple sites, ensuring streamlined processes and future-ready systems, driving continuous improvement and efficiency in the movement of goods.

In addition to this, as our Distribution & Logistics Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation and integration of new logistics and distribution systems.
  • Replacing legacy systems and ensuring operational efficiency across multiple sites.
  • Overseeing logistics coordination, including delivery scheduling, route optimisation, and cost control.
  • Supervising warehouse operations, ensuring inventory control, safe loading of goods, and security of stock across multiple locations.
  • Monitoring and managing costs, working to reduce operational overheads.
  • Leading and developing logistics and warehouse teams, ensuring high performance, ongoing training, and effective collaboration across sites.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company safety standards, maintaining a safe working environment at all sites.
  • Analysing key performance indicators and operational data to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align logistics processes with company operations and ensure smooth communication and efficient workflows.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service by ensuring accurate, timely deliveries and addressing any issues promptly.

In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:

  • Proven experience in implementing logistics and distribution systems from scratch, particularly in businesses transitioning from legacy systems or traditional practices.
  • Comfortable with a hands-on approach and not afraid to get involved in the day-to-day operational tasks when needed.
  • Extensive experience in managing operations across multiple sites.
  • Strong background in logistics coordination, warehouse management, and delivery scheduling.
  • Solid understanding of cost control and performance optimisation.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams in a multi-site environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across multiple teams and departments.
