Overview:
We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an Data Analyst and gain their level 5 Data Engineer qualification. You will gain hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure, learning to extend and maintain our data platform.
Salary: £23,000 per annum.
Duties:
- Your day will be spent providing high-value data analysis to all areas of the business.
- You will be working in new reports, and Power BI dashboards and making improvements to existing wok.
- You will carry our data analysis for all parts of the business using your experience as a data analyst to identify trends and data insights and to answer data related questions. This will involve analysing data from multiple data sources including Dynamics CRM and our databricks lakehouse.
- You will work closely with colleagues at all levels to gain understanding of their data needs so you can create dashboards and visualisations that meet their needs for accurate and actionable business insight.
- You will be an integral part in influencing change and shaping how the organisation evolves to embed the use of data and insights into the heart of all decision making.
- You will play a key role in the development of the Retail Trust new data and insights platform, identifying data requirement, ingesting and modelling data, and looking for trends that will help clients improve employee happiness
About You:
Desired skills and qualities:
- Experience with using Microsoft Power BI in Dynamics (or a similar environment) to create dataflows, reports and dashboards.
- Experience with Python & SQL
- Experience with modelling data either in Power BI, Databricks (or similar)
- Experience with using Dataricks (or a similar lakehouse)
- Experiance with web analytics such as Clarity and Google Analytics.
- Highly analytical with strong mathematical and statistical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Entry Requirements:
Standard entry:
- Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
- OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)
Plus: - 5 GCSE's, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
- Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
Our Tech Stack:
- You will gain hands-on experience with Databricks, including Workflows/Jobs, DLT Pipelines, and Delta Live Tables (DLT). You will learn programming languages and tools such as Python, PySpark, Pandas, Pytest, and SQL. Additionally, you will become familiar with data modelling concepts like schema design and ETL/ELT processes.
- The role involves working with cloud technologies and AI, specifically Azure, and using version control systems like Git.
- You will also learn about CI/CD pipelines and collaboration tools such as Azure ADO, Slack, and Teams.
