Randstad Education is seeking a responsible Pastoral Manager. This is a vital role in supporting students to achieve their personal and academic goals by helping with pastoral care and managing behavioural challenges.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or mentoring role within a secondary school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education, youth work, counselling, or social work (Level 3 or above)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • A firm but empathetic approach to behaviour management and conflict resolution

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised pastoral care to students, assisting them in overcoming personal and academic challenges.
  • Track and enhance the attendance, behaviours, and academic performance of selected students.
  • Create and implement intervention plans for students who are at risk of under performing.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and external organisations to create a strong support network.
  • Conduct one-on-one and small group mentoring sessions, focusing on building resilience, confidence, and effective study habits.
  • Keep detailed records of student progress while ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.
  • Supervise student support services, with particular attention to Year 7 pupils.
