Reed are supporting Rochdale Council in their recruitment to a Strategic Development Manager position. In this role, you will provide leadership in ensuring the strategic direction, effective governance, and performance management of the Rochdale Safer Communities Partnership (RSCP). This Project Management focussed role is crucial for embedding a public health approach and overseeing strategic needs assessments to support evidence-based community safety and public health initiatives.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as the strategic advisor to the Rochdale Safer Communities Partnership Board, facilitating board meetings, coordinating work programmes, and performance reporting.
  • Lead the development and coordination of community safety strategies and policies and oversee the implementation plans related to these work streams.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnership arrangements to support the delivery of strategic plans.
  • Develop links and partnerships with key stakeholders to drive forward improvements in community safety and public health approaches.
  • Analyse, interpret, and present a wide range of evidence and data to develop compelling cases for interventions, including robust needs assessments and business cases.
  • Propose and promote business plans and proposals related to programme development and delivery, setting out investment plans and key performance indicators.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and partnership management within community safety or public health sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in analyisng, interpreting, and communicating data to inform service improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Experience in project managing workstreams and multi-agency priorities within a community safety or public health setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local government and community groups.
