SUMMARY
Our client, a major international Investment Bank, is looking for a DevOps Engineer consultant to join the eFX IT team.
eFX technology is responsible for a suite of applications and services that form the core of the eFX business line servicing clients, internal Sales, and other branches of the group. There are a number of key applications within platform, including the single dealer platform Jetstream FX and the Algo pricing and hedging platforms.
There are also a large number of underpinning services such as static data and STP. The suite includes connectivity to markets and multi-dealer venues, single dealer platform, pricing and trader tools, and supports FX spot, forward, options and deposits.
On the technology front, the platforms are mixed with C# and Java being the primary languages. The role would interact heavily with all eFX IT teams and also with the data analysis team (KDB).
The role encompasses a DevOps engineer serving all teams within eFX IT, including both development and technical support teams. The role is a hands-on role, including classic DevOps areas such as improvements in build chains, integration with bank standard tooling, automation of deployment into multiple environments, development of automated testing, removal of obsolete build chain components, managing the replacement of end of life hardware and operating systems, preparation for potential cloud deployments including areas such as containerisation, Kubernetes etc..
As a trading technology-focused role, an awareness of compliance issues and a willingness work within bank’s compliance culture is a base level requirement.
A proven track record of delivering such changes and improvements is required. A high technical awareness of the areas, trends and technologies within the DevOps space is also required, with the expectation that the standards set here will influence the build and deployment direction of eFX IT for years to come. Proven experience with at least one delivery technique such as Agile, SCRUM, Kanban and similar is a requirement.
The position will also require a strong production stability-focused ethos and the ability to work to that goal with multiple teams, including liaising with support teams on both the infrastructure and the operational side. The successful candidate will be able to identify areas of concern and suggest mitigating strategies – this is a purely is a purely prescriptive role and the expectation is that the candidate will be able to bring and add value to the existing processes.
This is a high-profile position and will matrix report to the Head of Operations - eFX IT and the Head of eFX IT.
