As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in providing exceptional service to clients while supporting the development of the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing client accounts and tax returns, advising on tax payable and deadlines, and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
• Liaising with clients to gather information, ensuring attention to detail and proactive communication
• Supporting managers in tax planning, business advisory services, and client-specific assignments
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and preparing necessary reports and computations
• Monitoring job quality and quantity to meet or exceed agreed budgets and targets
• Supporting trainees with on-the-job coaching and attending relevant courses for professional growth
• Using accounting software effectively for bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and management accounts
• Assisting clients with accounting software queries and supporting firm-wide marketing initiatives

Qualifications

• Essential: ACA or ACCA qualified
• Desirable: Degree or equivalent experience

Experience

• Essential: Minimum of 2 years of proven accounts experience in a practice environment
• Desirable: Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero and rural business services

Critical Skills

• Ability to complete accounts files and personal tax returns accurately and efficiently
• Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with CCH, Xero, Sage Line 50, and other software
• Excellent problem-solving and active listening skills

• £38,000 to £48,000 per annum
